Scarborough- The town was founded around 966 AD there is evidence of much earlier Stone Age and Bronze Age settlements. However, the new settlement was soon burned to the ground by a rival band of Vikings under Tosti (Tostig Godwinson), Lord of Falsgrave, and Harald III of Norway. Scarborough recovered under King Henry II, who built a stone castle on the headland, and granted charters in 1155 and 1163, permitting a market on the sands.
Parking at Mansion House – Scarborough is free of charge on the streets outside the building.
Some areas are restricted to 3 hours by a “Disc Zone”.

The other areas are completely unlimited for time and do not require a disc.

On approaching Scarborough head for South Bay. We are located on the South Cliff Top on the Esplanade between the Cliff Lift & Clock Tower.
Parking is free of charge with no time limits on both sides of the road outside our accommodation.

We are 10-15 mins walk from the station. Turn right from the station and cross the bridge. Then turn left onto Belmont Road and walk along the Esplanade.
